PRESS RELEASE: Portable Southeast 2025 Call for Art

NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2025 PORTABLE SOUTHEAST TRAVELING EXHIBIT
The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council (JAHC) announces the return of Portable Southeast, a traveling exhibit opportunity for artists living
and working in Southeast Alaska.

JUNEAU, ALASKA (August 23, 2024) — The Juneau Arts and Humanities Council is currently seeking
submissions for the 2025 Portable Southeast traveling art exhibit, which will display in six regions throughout
Southeast Alaska, beginning in January 2025 and ending in June 2025.
Portable Southeast is a curated traveling art exhibit inspired by life in coastal Southeast Alaska. This curated
exhibit program will provide increased exposure for Southeast Alaskan artists, and a region-wide celebration of
coastal living for Southeast Alaska communities. Artists currently living in any Southeast Alaska community may
submit up to three pieces for consideration in any 2D or 3D media. A group of curators from each region of
Southeast Alaska will review and admit pieces. Selected artwork will tour the region, exhibiting in six
communities over six months in 2025. By visiting both small and large communities along our coastal
waterways, new partnerships between artists, exhibition venues, and arts organizations will weave a network
within the region.

The Portable Southeast submission deadline is at 11:59 p.m. Alaska Standard Time on Sept. 30, 2024.
Submissions and further requirements, including application fee and art size, can be found online at
www.jahc.org/portable-southeast.
